Painting and decoration of functional objects has been practiced by cultures the world over. Traditional folk painting forms the basis of the Historic portion of the Decorative Arts Collection.

It is from these origins that contemporary decorative painting springs from. You can see the ingenuity of artists from years past and the love and care they put into their efforts.
